Find that new business career online

Updated: Friday, July 24th, 2009

According to the latest results from data analysis maven, comScore, gone are the days of pouring over classified ads in the local newspaper. Today, more people are finding their new business careers or other jobs online.

From June 2008 to June 2009, there was a 2 percent increase in the total number of visitors to popular career websites, from just over 1.8 billion to just over 1.9 billion.

Many career sites offer information and career counselling in ways that traditional classified ads do not. For more information on business careers and business education, feel free to fill out our corresponding forms.

Vice president of comScore Jeff Hackett commented on the increase in visits to online career pages, describing such sites as "one of the fastest-growing categories online."

Furthermore, he was optimistic about more users approaching career sites for advice.

"Certainly with millions of Americans reevaluating their careers right now there is opportunity for continued growth and innovation in this segment of the online marketplace," he said.

Interestingly, comScore found that customer service careers were the most sought after online, with 273,000 individuals looking for information on that term for the month of June. ADNFCR-2292-ID-19286001-ADNFCR
