National Society of Hispanic MBAs to host conference
Updated: Thursday, September 24th, 2009
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) announced it will hold its annual conference October 8 to 10 in Minneapolis to provide resources on MBA programs and business careers.
The conference is expected to draw more than 8,000 MBA students, professionals and executives as well as top Hispanic business leaders. The event is the largest career expo for Hispanic MBAs in the country and has adopted the theme Think Ahead, Move Forward this year.
Attendees will have access to such resources as a professional development day, executive and research forums, and a career management center. These opportunities aim to allow those pursuing business careers to gather advice from corporate executives and business experts and create a platform for the exchange of strategy and ideas.
NSHMA will also honor beneficiaries of its scholarship and University Partnership programs and present its Brillante Awards for Excellence.
Steve A. Ramos, interim CEO of NSHMBA, said the conference is intended to further the organization's "mission of fostering Hispanic leadership."
Enrollment in a MBA program may help those pursuing business careers adapt to the growing market for managerial positions. The demand for financial managers is expected to increase by 13 percent over the next seven years.
