Princeton Review to release annual rankings of law and business schools
Updated: Monday, October 5th, 2009
The Princeton Review has announced that the 2010 editions of its top business and law school guidebooks will become available tomorrow.
The lists - which are based on student opinions from the featured institutions - will provide information about 172 law schools and 301 business schools that ranked highest in 11 different categories.
The organization used input from students to develop lists of the top 10 schools in categories such as Best Professors, Best Campus Facilities and Greatest Opportunity for Women rather than using hierarchical or academic ranking systems.
Surveys collected from nearly 18,000 law students and 19,000 business students were combined with data from the schools to compile each categorical list and information on admission, academics, financial aid, campus life and careers from each institution.
Robert Franek, publisher and senior vice president of the Princeton Review, said the guidebooks are intended to "help applicants decide which of these academically outstanding schools" will best suit their needs.
Such information may help undergraduate business students decide on a best match for a MBA program that will help them increase their earning potential. PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
