Babson College has recently completed its Asia Pacific Family Summit at the Korean Federation of Banks in Seoul.
Through its Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices Project for Family Enterprising, the business school held its second conference to help families in Asia Pacific determine how they will pass their companies to the next generation.
Researchers at the school have examined entrepreneurial practices within families to develop succession solutions for business leaders.
Attendees of this month event, which was sponsored by the Korean Association of Small Business Studies, attended educational sessions led by representatives from top universities across Asia Pacific.
Session topics included entrepreneurial approaches to succession and the role of governance in stimulating small business ownership.
The project was initiated by the university's Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship as part of its mission to "lead the global advancement of entrepreneurship education and practice through the development of teaching, research, and outreach initiatives," school officials said.
Students and professionals who complete associates, bachelors or masters programs in business may participate in similar projects that can boost their careers.
PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
