Updated: Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Recent graduates of MBA programs who are of Asian descent may be interested to learn about the upcoming Asian MBA Leadership (AMBA) Conference and Career Expo that will take place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York later this month.
The event is scheduled to last from September 10 to 13 and will feature seminars, workshops and interviews, and organizers anticipate it will attract many of the top employers in the business sector.
In fact, the list of expected companies includes giants such as Booz Allen Hamilton, BP, Mass Mutual Financial Group, Monster, New York Life, PepsiCo and State Farm.
"The primary focus of AMBA is to bring together corporate recruiters, MBA job candidates and experienced business professionals to embrace the career potential that Asian-Americans provide to the workforce," says Jino Ahn, founder of the recruiting firm Asian Diversity.
AMBA was organized by Ahn who was inspired by events such as those held annually by the National Black MBA Association and National Society of Hispanic MBAs and which have been highly successful in helping minority talent launch their business careers.
PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
