Updated: Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
The Bell Leadership Institute has announced it will begin accepting applications for the 2009 Leadership Roundtable, a professional development program for domestic and international business executives.
Gerald D. Bell, a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's business school and the institute's founder, will meet with program participants one day per month in 2010 to help them plan and develop their companies.
Now in its 26th year, the Leadership Roundtable has helped bolster the careers of high-level executives from several companies, including Grady-White Boats, Radio Flyer, Dot Foods, Argonaut Group and Inspire Pharmaceuticals.
At the monthly meetings, Bell teaches business professionals to "become
extraordinary leaders" by "build[ing their] own personality skills."
The 2010 program will focus on leadership techniques executives can use to steer their companies through the recession and thrive during economic recovery.
Adding such training to associates, bachelors and masters programs in business will help professionals develop successful managerial careers. The demand for financial managers, whose median earnings were $90,970 in May 2006, is expected to grow by 13 percent over the next seven years.
