Updated: Monday, August 10th, 2009
Technological progress means ever more business school grads are searching for jobs online, and Doostang is the latest online networking resources to become popular with those looking to land that perfect job.
Unlike some other sites, this one is geared towards holders of degrees from some of the most elite institutions in America and aims to match candidates with the most prestigious jobs, some of which are never advertised on the open market.
Founded in 2005, Doostang has already partnered with a number of top business schools, including the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
"Our internal focus now is to continue to build relationships with leading companies in major U.S. metropolitan areas in order to bring their career opportunities to our members," says Mareza Larizadeh, the company's founder.
He also estimates about a dozen of the top 20 MBA programs have signed partnership deals with Doostang.
Those who would like to position themselves to be able to join networks like Doostang have a range of MBA programs to choose from.
PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
However, top salaries for outstanding individuals can exceed $1 million.
