National Association of Women MBAs opens Greater Boston chapter
Updated: Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
In an effort to bring together female graduates of business schools, the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) has formed its Boston, Massachusetts, chapter.
The pre-launch meeting took place on August 5 and was attended by more than 70 participants who had an opportunity to learn about the chapter's mission, program and activities.
Meanwhile, the official launch celebration is scheduled to be held on September 15th in partnership with Neiman-Marcus, a fashion retailer.
"Our goal is to establish a strong professional network that will serve as the platform to help advance careers and leadership opportunities for business women," explains Linda Moraski, CEO of PeopleServe and the chapter's president.
"If you hold a graduate business degree, are an MBA student, have general business experience or simply support the mission of NAWMBA, we encourage you to join," she adds.
The NAWMBA initiative in Boston is only one of many networking opportunities that can open doors to rewarding business careers for those who graduate from MBA programs.
Such programs are offered by many schools across America, either in the form of traditional instruction or via online degrees.
MBA holders can expect a significant return on their investment, as PayScale.com estimates average salaries for individuals with such degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008.
