Business school to use social networking to connect with prospective studen

Bunker Hill Community College has announced it will increase its use of social networking techniques to promote its associates programs in business.
Using a $7,500 grant it has received from the Coleman Foundation, the college's Community Center for Entrepreneurship will increase its tweeting and blogging efforts to reach out to high school students who wish to pursue degrees in business.
Such efforts will supplement the school's current outreach initiatives for prospective freshmen, which include partnerships with area high schools that allow students to earn credits that can be applied to a business degree or entrepreneurship certification.
"This communication is essential in helping these students make the transition from high school to college," said Bogusia Wojciechowska, Bunker Hill's dean of professional studies.
Students who are pursuing degrees in business at the college may participate in speaker programs, workshops and events and the Community Center for Entrepreneurship, including the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week that will be held the week.
Associates and bachelors programs in business or entrepreneurship may provide ample preparation for career-boosting MBA programs.
PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
