New advisory board links business school to international business communit
Updated: Thursday, November 19th, 2009
The University of Miami School of Business has announced the creation of an advisory board to help the school expand its offerings and launch the business careers of budding entrepreneurs.
University officials developed the board to help the school collaborate with the local and international business communities and receive strategic advice from successful entrepreneurs, including Sandy Goldstein, founder and CEO of Capsicum Group, Gene Gomberg, founder and CEO of FirstManagement Partners, Florida state Senator Jeremy Ring as well as Romero Britto.
Britto, a pop artist and entrepreneur, was appointed to the board at a university-wide Global Entrepreneurship Week event.
Placement on the board will allow Britto to help the school "build upon its existing
programs while it explores new initiatives and strengthens its relationships with the wider entrepreneurial community," he said.
Current offerings from the business school include real-world consulting and internship opportunities as well as an annual business plan competition.
Associates, bachelors and masters programs in business can prepare prospective business owners to accelerate their careers and pursue their entrepreneurial endeavors.
PayScale.com, a research company, says that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
