Survey lists most affordable online business schools
Updated: Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Today's prospective students are seeking great value for their education dollars, and a new poll may help them make a decision that may launch them on a path to a successful business career.
The survey, released by GetEducated.com, a consumer group that rates online colleges for cost and quality of education, lists schools which offer the lowest tuition rates for their business degrees.
According to the ranking, East Carolina University and the University of Wyoming may be the best choice for those seeking affordable education.
For such students, GetEducated.com founder Vicky Phillips suggests the best idea may be to "look for public universities where tuition is naturally low [as] public colleges are already subsidized by your tax dollars."
"Almost 70 percent of residential colleges now offer their most popular degrees online," she adds.
The study compared tuition costs at 83 online-learning bachelors programs offered by accredited universities in the U.S. While tuition costs are an important consideration, holders of business degrees can expect to reap large rewards.
One estimate, put forward by PayScale.com, a research company, suggest that average salaries for holders of MBA degrees ranged from $73,510 to $171,583 in 2008, depending on the field, position and years of experience.
